Public Health Nurse
Locations: 5635 State Rd, Burbank IL 60459
Employment Type: Full-Time (Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, 8 hours/day)
Salary Range: $31-33 per hour

Requirements: Current IL license as RN, completion of bachelor’s degree in nursing, current CPR certification. Must have reliable automobile, valid driver’s license and minimum state required liability auto insurance. Bi-lingual (Spanish, Polish or Arabic) preferred.
Job Description: To provide professional public health nursing services to a diverse multicultural population in a variety of settings, delivering excellent customer service through professional, empathetic, and clear communication. Work involves responsibility for providing professional nursing treatment and care to clients according to established rules, regulations and standard practices of the profession. Services include, but are not limited to health education, disease prevention and health promotion, primary care in the clinic areas, Communicable Disease surveillance and response, and variety of tasks relative to assigned areas of duty. May be assigned to specific tasks and work in one or more areas within Public Health functions, this may include an assignment to any Stickney Township building or facility.
Job duties:
• Provide direct public health nursing services to individuals, families, and population groups in a clinic, community or home settings
• Connect patients to medical, social, and community services through referrals
• Educate and counsel patients individually, as families, and in small groups on health needs and concerns
• Collaborate with local healthcare providers, schools and daycares, long term care facilities, and other congregate care settings and community organizations in the jurisdiction
• Function as a member of the Communicable Disease Prevention and Control team, conduct disease investigations and surveillance of reportable diseases including STIs, contact tracing, and communicable disease follow-up
• Provide case management for children with elevated lead levels
• Participate in outreach activities, education events, and public health initiatives
• Participate in emergency response activities as assigned
• Collaborate with community partners to promote the health of population
• Clinic setting - completes medical assessment of patients, completes work/school physicals, administers immunizations and other injections, provides patient education on disease prevention and health promotion, assists with office procedures
• Complete required documentation in the electronic medical record

Medical Assistant/Medical Receptionist
Locations: South Clinic: 5635 State Rd, Burbank IL 60459; North Clinic: 6721 40th St, Stickney IL 60402
Employment Type: Full-Time (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4pm, 6.5 hours/day)
Salary Range: $21.00-$23.00 per hour (based on experience and certification)
Stickney Public Health District is looking for a highly motivated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient and exceptional patient care. This role involves assisting nursing and provider staff with patient preparation, vital signs, specimen collection, vaccinations, as well as administrative duties.
Key responsibilities
• Work collaboratively with nursing, provider, and administrative staff to provide welcoming, coordinated, patient-centered care
• Provide high quality customer service to area residents utilizing services in a health clinic
• Assist healthcare providers with patient care, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, performing basic laboratory tests, and administering vaccines
• Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and staff by maintaining exam rooms and equipment
• Manage patient flow by triaging patients, providing patient education, scheduling appointments, and coordinating referrals
• Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, managing insurance information, and handling billing
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards by following policies and procedures
• Travel between clinic sites on a regular basis, rotating schedule
• Working condition may involve standing/walking extended periods of the day
Qualifications
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program
• Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
• Current CPR/BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer skills
• Commitment to providing patient-centered, culturally competent care
• Ability to perform duties in a busy, multitasking environment
Preferred Experience
• One of more years of experience in a clinic setting
• Experience with immunizations, Vaccine For Children (VFC) program
• Bilingual (English/Arabic, Polish, or Spanish) preferred
